Modimo Ke Setshabelo is a social project based in Thokoza currently feeding and assisting children who are made vulnerable through HIV/Aids. This is in a holistic manner and includes educational, social, emotional, spiritual and nutritional support. We recently assisted them with funding towards a TV and DVD for the kids.

On an ongoing basis we are looking to support them in the 2012/2013 fiscal year with the following items which they are currently purchasing every month: Your donation goes towards this valuable cause and we have managed to identify certain bulk suppliers for these products to aid us in this cause.

Maize
Samp
Beans
Macaroni
Sugar
Milk powder.

They feed approximately 90 children a hot meal each day, The Outreach Project is appealing for assistance in the following parts of the program.

Monde Ke Setshabelo also currently supplies about 15 very needy families (members from the childrens direct, immediate families who are absolutely destitute) - We need donations towards food parcels - these 15 families comprise of 105 people!

Educational Aids
Required at Setshabelo:
The usual pens pencils books etc

ST MARY'S

  St Marys

St Mary’s was started in 1902 by the sisters of St Margaret’s, East Grimstead as St Mary’s Orphanage. The name was later changed to St Mary's Children's home as it is called to this day.

Their service includes residential care to presently around 40 children, they are registered for 60 children, designated to them through the Children’s Court on account of the Child Care Act.

They provide after care for children who have suffered the effects of abuse (mental, physical, emotional and sexual abuse) and or neglect, having being orphaned or some having been infected or affected by the HIV/Aids virus.

Most of the kids come from surrounding informal settlements and many can be seen to be the poorest of the poor on arrival at St Mary's.

We want to aid St Mary's Children's home with foodstuffs as well as toiletries and other items including stationery and educational aids for the children.

Additional goods such as bedding and camping bags need to be purchased as well as well as a few other odds and ends.

foodparcels

One of the most effective ways of helping someone in need is to provide them with a with a food parcel. This ensures that they at least have something to eat and lifts their spirits when they have nothing else. The outreach project is committed to helping anyone in need and we thank our generous donors who make it all possible. Thank you !!!

Our branches are embarking on aiding individuals in Gauteng and other areas who live below the breadline. These individuals and families and are in urgent need of support. We have identified various flash points there where food parcels are distributed to by The Outreach Project. We find that the most effective way of dealing with this particular issue is through the distribution of nutritious food parcels. A typical nutritiously balanced food parcel may contain the following ingredients.

RICE
SUGAR
MAIZE MEAL
CORNED MEAT
TINNED VEGETABLES
TINNED PILCHARD FISH
MACARONI
TEA BAGS
BAKED BEANS
SALT
COOKING OIL
SOYA MINCE
SOAP
BISCUITS

These items are shipped from the supplier to the distribution point in bulk and then packed according to individual needs, parcels given out are rarely the same as different needs arise. Some people are single and others comprise larger families who need assistance urgently. In some cases people have particular needs and others cannot eat items such as nuts or foods containing gluten so we cater for the individual needs of the applicants accordingly. We welcome donations towards The Outreach Projects food parcel drive, should you wish to make a contribution towards this worthy cause then please proceed through donating here. We thank you very much for your ongoing support. Bless you!

BRANCHES

We will soon be expanding our operations by opening a new branches in other major centre's in South Africa. Other regions are currently under consideration pending approval by the management committee. We are extremely excited as we intend opening yet another branch near
Imus Cavite (South of Manila) in the Philippines. They have expressed interest in starting a job creation project and they are as excited as we are about it, this will ensure that some of the relief activities in that region become self sustaining. We are endeavoring to raise funds for them to begin as soon as possible. [DONATE]

The Outreach Project South Africa

Every day more and more people go hungry due to various factors, we uplift the living conditions of those that we help so as to improve their lifestyle in order that they may become self sufficient.

An AIDS orphan is a child who became an orphan because of death due to HIV/AIDS. There are 70,000 new AIDS orphans a year.

By 2010, 20 million WILL BE orphaned by AIDS.

It is well known that providing kids with free soccer balls keeps them away from crime, drugs and alcohol.

we are looking to give away a number of soccer balls each week.

"they also have plans underway to begin their own projects and this will help them achieve their own independence which is a very good thing!"
